Is Wikipedia credible?
Currently browsing thru databases searching for information blocking and credibility...
Anybody would like to comment why you think Wikipedia is a credible source? You guys perhaps often quote Wikipedia inside your essay rite? Then what makes you believe in its information credibility? Why don't you think that the information contained perhaps has been abused or is not true or is in favour of certain party? What ensures you guys?

Credible,neng, klo buat sekilas info. Tapi klo buat ditaruh di fyp report mending jangan, hehe. Taruhlah paper2 dari berbagai conference sebagai referencemu, yosh!
wiki itu ya kayak kita dengerin orang lain ngomong, tergantung persepsi kita dia itu boong atau nggak....^^
Well, Gita, to get more understanding about this phenomena, (I call it phenomena coz it is really phenomenal), I recommend you to read the book about "The Wisdom of the Crowd" by James Surowiecki (you don’t necessarily read the book thou, can just surf the net or open wikipedia :))
The main idea is that collective intelligent under some circumstances is smarter that smartest people in the world. This book explains more about those circumstances that have to be met.
And Wikipedia with web 2.0 technology ( you can also find explanation about it on wikipedia) is fulfill those precondition, so that if James Surowiecki theory is right, we can assume that wikipedia as collective encyclopedia is better than a heavy and bulky, conventional encyclopedia.
For me, regardless it is credible or not, but I prefer to use it rather than conventional encyclopedia, because so far, even if I did not get a perfect definition, but most of the time it is rite. On top of that, there are many other advantages like we can get the most up-to-date definition, save our time, space and of course save our money.
So, why should we feel hesitate to use it? :D
Gita, selama ini sih kayaknya Wikipedia cukup credible :). Apalagi yang banyak references dan external linksnya :D. Hmm...Biasanya kalo gak neutral atau diabuse sama mereka dikasih warning atau dikunci kan? Good luck yah :).
Ow, as addition, actually wiki concept have been adopted by many education institutions as an alternative learning tools, because it can trigger active learning and student participation in class enviroment.
And NTU has also started to adopt it. Please check your blackboard :)

@all: itu dy...aku lagi ada project masalah credibility...terutama ketika wiki ternyata diquote di persidangan dan flaws (buat yosafat makasiiiihh banget atas artikelnya kemaren.jadi dapet fakta baru ^^)
nah..makanya timbul pertanyaan apakah ia credible. Tar deh kalo aku dah ada source yang lebih lengkap insya Allah aku kasi tau ^^...makasih atas semua masukannya :)
