Thinkquest + Exams : HELP!!! (I mean it!)
My team, The Credibles, has been working really hard on our project. Especially NTU mates: Sparsh, Pranav, Devayan, and me. Working overtime? We'd had it.
Flashing back to those almost-the-deadline days; we had to stay up all night, compiling the website, even without any meals as it was sunday and no canteens were opened! (luckily we had our chips!) Plus it was Dina's birthday. I as a little bit hesitated to leave my work at midnite as othes were still working too in the TR. But Devayan forced me to go as he didn't want me to miss my roomie's birthday. I was so relieved for being told to go and come back an hour later.
And now it's all paid off.
Just when I got on the car, just arriving from Singapore and about to get back home, Pranav sent me an SMS from India.
Hi Pranav here. Congratz v won Thinkquest the second place! Enjoy ur holiday!
Pranav, now in India.
Alhamdulillah...Allah's great....
But it's now a dilemma. The prize includes a round trip to San Fransisco at 11-15 November, which means that it's gonna be at the same day with my first core exam, 15 November, BA218, Math of Finance.
From the very beginning, going to SF was not my main objective for joining the team. My objectives were for obtaining the knowledge and the experience, filling my CV, and grabbing the laptop prize worth 1,250 USD. I dun really wanna go there, just that.
My concern is about the exam. Let's say, I can manage to drop my core, which is only offered in sem 1 and being a pre-requisite, by the help of the School Dean. I'll still have a whole-week exams the following days when I got back. And the one-week trip would be very busy that I won't have time to prepare the exams, which means that I have to work extra hard in the mid sem. I've got dance preparation for IAF in August-September. So it means to me that October's gonna be the toiling, torturing month. Plus my last messy sem record. Plus all the fuss in applying for a US visa. Plus all the rush in the exam. Seems that they all add up to a NO answer.
If you were in my position, whaddayasay?

All depend on you Gita. You know yourself best. The way you manage your time, you learn, you perceive a thing, and you know which is/are more important for you. This all fuzzy things are actually blessings from Allah. Now you're in position to choose the most appropriate and convenient ways for you to thank and appreciate all you've got.
Nice smile from me! :)

setiap orang di sekitar kita dikaruniai berkah untuk bisa duduk di exam hall setiap semester. Tapi tidak semua orang diberi kesempatan ke sf. pilihlah yang tidak akan membuatmu menyesal di kemudian hari.
