Oracle ThinkQuest Appreciation Dinner

Last night our team was invited by Oracle for ThinkQuest Appreciation Dinner. Our team was to showcase our project to the guests and audience coming mainly from Oracle Singapore and media press.

The reason why this dinner was held was to appreciate "Singapore's" success in ThinkQuest (TQ) Competition. Singapore has been competing for TQ since 1996 or so. And in TQ 2007, 8 out of 47 Singapore-based teams who submitted their works were included in 30 top TQ participants. Raffless Institute and Hwa Chong JC were two strong team that keep appearing on TQ Winners List. There's even a guy who repeatedly won TQ every year from 1996 till the last year he was eligible for becoming "student" in that competition. Not satisfied for quitting the competition, he became an assistant coach in 2006.

Gee, it reminds me to my assistant coach for TQ 2008, Sigit Adinugroho. He's a graduate from ITB-FSRD and has been in TQ for 3 times in a row. Not to mention my own coach , Mr.Amit Das. He seems to be addicted to TQ as he kept bringing his team as winners for 3 times in a row as well, two winning teams for each year. He also trained his one-and-only (veerrry cute!) son Arun. Arun is just 11 years old now but he has been TQ winner for 2 years in a row. His first TQ work was a collaboration with Sigit as his asst coach. And this year he's collaborating with his Dad in the competition. How sweet is that!!!

Arun and Dr.Das

Unfortunately only Pranav and I were presenting. Sparsh had to battle for his Business Plan Competition in which the team he led came the fourth. He came late for the dinner. So did Devayan as he was attending the HSBC career talk (yeah..he is a comp engineer but his goal is to be an investment banker!). And here are the NTU folks:

Pranav, me, Sparsh, Devayan

NTU folks (minus Devayan) with Dr.Das, Mrs.Das, cutie Arun, and Arun's teacher.

It's been a great pleasure working with this team.
Gonna miss our time guys.
Goodluck for our future.
Hiossh!!
